How To Write A Speech

Your best friend's wedding tomorrow?
A business presentation?
Don't these questions take away your night's sleep. For many of us it does. So what is it that makes us shiver at the thought of speaking. Mind you its CONFIDENCE.

When you stand in front of people you should be confident enough to deliver a good speech. To get this confidence, you need to prepare forehand. The most important part of this preparation is
SPEECH WRITING.

The beginning:

-You have a business presentation tomorrow. All your audio visuals are ready but you are not quite ready to face the 100 odd people and speak in front of them.
-Your darling daughter's wishes have finally come true and she is getting married to her college sweetheart. You being the father of the bride can't come to terms that she is already so grown up. Let alone the much anticipated Father of the Bride speech.

-You have always been good in public speaking, but every time you have to make a welcome speech you get the jitters.

This is the main part of a speech that decides its effectiveness. The first 30 seconds are the most crucial with respect to how you introduce yourself and grab the audiences' attention towards you. To achieve this you can make an interesting statement, quote on something, ask a thoughtful question, or even crack a joke. By doing so you can surely make people listen to you.

Once you have attracted people in the audience to listen to your speech, you can smoothly move to the middle of your speech.

The Middle or Body:
This is the longest part of your speech. During this you have to introduce the audience to your main area of speech. You can do it by dividing your speech into points. The point could be a statement regarding a product, a joke about the groom or any relevant thing for that matter. The organization of these points should be such that one relevant point should follow the other and these should be related to one another, where the second one builds up for the first one.

This will give a proper flow to your speech and will take it in a right direction. This will also help the listener understand you more precisely.

The Closing or End:
Just like the beginning the closing should also be impactful. The closing serves as an opportunity for:
- Summarizing the main points
- Providing food of thought to the audience
- Leaving the listeners with a positive memory

With these guidelines you are sure to make an impact with your speech.
