Business Speeches

Based on the business presentation, your promotion will be decided. The stakes are too high. You don't want to mess up your career right. The trick is to captivate your audience right from the beginning. Use some of the tips and make an impression on your boss and on your clients too.

Tips for a Successful Presentation...

1. Key Phrases: Decide on the important points in your presentation. Keep referring to them throughout the presentation so that the audience will know what you want to get across to them. Use limited words and preferably bullets on screen.

2. Layout: The layout should be pleasing to look at. Make sure the important things are at the top as sometimes the bottom part of the screen is not visible to the back benchers. The content should read from left to right and the title should be preferably at the top of the slide.

3. Avoid Capital Letters and more Punctuations: Punctuations make the slide too crammed up and capital letters gives an effect of you shouting.

4. Use Simple Fonts: Try and use the standard fonts such as the Arial, Times New Roman or Verdana. Do not use many fonts, stick to 2 or three and make sure the size is big so that people at the back can read easily.

5. Use Contrasting Colours: Keep the colour combination constant. Try and use light background with dark content for easier visibility. Preferably avoid absolutely white backgrounds, tone it with a cream or a beige colour.

6. Number of Slides: Try and not make the presentations very long. Reduce the number of slides.

7. Make it interesting: Use charts, pictures or graphs to make your presentation interesting. Don't use only text as it can get boring for the audience. You can give some personal examples, maybe use a little bit of humour just to take a break. After all it's a business presentation, you can not be too casual.

8. Runs on all PCs: Before the presentation, run it once and see if it works not only on your PC but where you going to have the presentation.

Now that you are pretty much prepared, go and have a successful presentation. Let your speech be inspirational and motivational for all.
